Yggdrasil

For the Global Game Jam in 2023 I was on Team Coag! We developed the potion brewing game Yggdrasil.

Gameplay

My Roles:

Writing:

I was a writer, designer, and cutscene editor for the team. My main work was on the development of a well suited story for our idea of making a foraging and potion brewing game. I developed and connected the plot to the progression of skills. The main plot involved the player character sacrificing themselves to fix Yggdrasil. I spent the majority of my time during the jam coming up characters and their own character arcs. For example Beetriss and Ruth are the first foragers the player meets, with cute and wholesome interations these two help give the game personality. When the player sacrifices themselves at the end it is to protect the foragers they met along the way.

I was a writer, designer, and cutscene editor for the team. 

Designing:

I helped create the main potion creating system. I gave all the foragables names and made the list of what potions they can make.

Cutscenes:

I pushed for cutscenes during this project to push the narrative. I created intro, middle, and ending cutscenes. Here is the ending cutscene I made:
